Amish African

It is hot as hell! I wanted my hair to be out of my face and off my neck so I ended up with this Amish/African-esque updo!

Here is a pictured tutorial of how I achieved this look
I started with moisturized dry hair. You could easily style with a old twist out or old curls.

I parted my hair down the center and secured each side with a hair band. The part does not need to be straight.

I took down the left side of my hair and kept the right side secured separately.

I then began twisting the loose hair. Tucking and rolling down to the back of my head.

As I twisting my hair, I secured it with large bobby pins.

This is how it should appear once you have traveled down the length of your head. It is normal to have loose hair at the end. You will deal with that later.

I began on the right side and separated a section from this side. This is what you will eventually use` to achieve the "pump".

I separated this section with a clip to keep it out of the way.

I then began twisting the existing hair on the right side in the same fashion as I did the left.

I then took the loose hair at the ends of each side and twisted down my hair's length. (This can be tricky depending on your hair length)

Taking the ends of each, I tucked each twist into the OPPOSING side (if your hair is not long enough, tuck the ends into the same side).

After securing with bobby pins, this is what it looked like in the back.

I then took down the "pump" designated section of my hair.

I took that hair and gently tucked it into the beginning twist of my right side. Make sure to tuck away all the hair so it looks seamless.

Here is the Amish effect to the hairstyle.

 BAM, here's the African!
